A Sheltered Life Chapter 5.1

THE INCIDENT

Since Ms. Bobbi Payne, Residential Director at the Battered Women and Children Shelter decided that the one and only complaint ever put to paper by me about the harassment that the occupants in the suite that my roommates and I shared a bathroom with was cause to tell me that she was referring me to the Salvation Army Hope Center today because she was concerned for my stability at about 3 pm today,Veterans Day and a Friday, I feel that there will be no holds barred at this point. With that statement done, I will now reveal the names of the people I left out of the previous chapter called THE INCIDENT. The residents I name here have given me permission to do so and since the staff members are not residents of the shelter I feel totally vindicated with the mention of their names.

The resident who was being told that if she didn't sign a document at the window she would have to leave was Connie Martin who is under protective custody and haas also been told that she will be exited but that is for the next chapter.

The resident who pointed out where the missing staff member and child counselor was Seriah Stone, she was placed in the shelter under protective custody and has been told that she too will be exited from the shelter as of 11-03-11 but that's for the next chapter.

The missing staff member and child counselor's name is Victor.

Maria Martinez was the first staff member to knock twice and then unlock my door without being granted permission to enter my room.

The mom that was in the PC lab with the teenaged girl of seventeen named Crystal, who was having sexual relations with said mom's fifteen year old boy, was named Jennifer.

The name of the man who was with Victor on the dock and whom by the way is also the staff member
I tweeted about that likes to go into the rooms without knocking and who today spent a great deal of time telling the women at the shelter that he was putting cameras in all their rooms, his name is Alejandro..

The woman orbiting around Victor in the little office is Bertha.

The staff member who knocked on my door the second time and then entered so quietly was Ms. Katie.

The woman who took the pictures was Ms. Abby and her supervisor's name is Michelle Herrera. By the by, the pictures of the children at the costume party was never addressed either. But I want it known that Ms. Bobbi Payne, who staked her job on the promise that no one on her staff took any pics, literally threw Ms. Abby and her boss under the bus and then left it up to me to inform the two women that were in the shot as well about the situation and who to call. She also left it up to all three of us to track down the pics and get a release form from the photographer.

These are the questions that went through my head and that I purposely did not include in chapter five:

Was it fear due to exposure to her abuser that I spotted on Jennifer's face or was the afraid of what I might have captured on the pc monitor that Veronica's daughter Crystal was looking at? It was probably nothing but then again...

And also ask yourself this, What was Victor really worried about that prompted him to literally get all
up in my personal space and drag other staff members into the situation?

Why was Alejandro following me and the hovering nearby when I went to the main lobby to make an appointment with legal advocate Kim Salazar? I did try to set up an appointment with Analy Galvan, my case manager but there were no sheets in the appointment book the the upcoming week.

And why did Victor and Bertha feel the need to call in the Residential Director, Ms. Bobbi Payne after our little confrontation in the small room across from the managers' office?

Why is it that I have been left to deal with the unauthorized pictures taken by staff, be they here or there, and why do I , Ms. Hall and Ms. Nunez have to call Ms. Herrera about a release form? But the real problem, the reason it all came to a head for Victor and staff, the real reason that prompted me to snap these pictures to show to my caseworker was this:Why were the there unsupervised children in the pc lab?Where was Victor? Why was the door to the lab locked and the lights off while still occupied by minors, all of whom were male? Why was a mother of a small female child afraid to leave here alone in the lab full of older boys with no supervisor in sight? Why was the staff here so defensive, especially that night and with ME, when a few simple questions were asked about using the pc lab since it was clearly open for use at the time?why is it I can never get a simple answer to my questions without it turning into a full out warzone?Coming up next, chapter six THE RIPPLES
